Authentication Failed?
Here’s Where to Start

You know your password. You typed it before. Maybe you even reset it recently. So why does the Crimson Circle Store or Connection Center still say, “Authentication Failed”?

In many cases, the problem doesn’t come from your Crimson Circle account. It comes from your browser, phone, tablet, or password manager. These tools often save passwords and automatically fill them in for you. That can be very helpful – until your device keeps using an old password after you’ve changed it.

This happens surprisingly often.

You may look at the login screen, see the dots in the password field, and simply click Log In. But it may be a password from months ago. Your device may also use Face ID, Touch ID, or another saved login tool to confirm the old password without showing you what it used.

That creates a loop: You try to log in > The system rejects the old password > You reset your password > Then your browser fills in the old one again. The screen still says, “Authentication Failed,” and you have no idea what to do next.

Before throwing your device out the window, here’s how to break the loop.

1. Don’t use the saved password. To un-save it:

  • Go to store.crimsoncircle.com.
  • When you see the login screen, click inside the password box and delete it all. Even if it looks correct, erase everything.
  • Then carefully type your password by hand, one character at a time.
  • Use the small “eye” icon in the password box, so you can check what you typed before you click Log In. This step matters. If you let your browser fill in the password, it may keep using the wrong one.

2. Watch for Face ID, Touch ID, and autofill

Phones and tablets can make this more confusing.

You may think Face ID or Touch ID logs you in by itself. It doesn’t. It usually unlocks a password your device already saved. If the saved password is old, your face or fingerprint will still approve the wrong password.

So, if you use Face ID, Touch ID, or autofill, don’t assume the password is correct. When you run into trouble, delete the filled-in password from the login box and type it in manually.

3. Update the saved password on your browser or device

If you can log in after typing your password by hand, your account is working. That means your browser and/or device has an old password saved. To prevent the same problem next time, update the saved password or delete it and enter the correct one again.

That may mean checking the following, depending on the browser and device you use:

  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari on Mac, iPhone, or iPad
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Your phone or tablet password manager
  • A separate password app, if you use one

Search your saved passwords for “Crimson Circle” or “store.crimsoncircle.com.” Then update the password or simply delete the old saved login.

After that, return to the Crimson Circle Store and type the correct password again. When your browser asks whether you want to save it, choose yes only after you know the login worked.

4. Reset your password ONLY after you stop autofill

If typing the password by hand still doesn’t work, reset your password by clicking “Forgot password?” on the login screen.

When you create your new password, write it down first so you can type it carefully. Remember that your password needs at least 12 characters, including:

  • Uppercase letters
  • Lowercase letters
  • Numbers
  • Special characters, such as & $ ! #, etc.

After you reset it, return to the login screen. Delete anything your browser fills in and type the new password by hand. Don’t use the autofill at this point: If your browser fills in the old password right after you reset it, the new password won’t help.

5. If your account says “Blocked”

If you try too many times with the wrong password, your account may get blocked for a short time. Don’t worry, just wait 5 minutes and then try again.

Before you try again, clear the password box and type the password manually.

Still stuck?

Try these additional steps:

  • Update your browser (this is always important)
  • Restart your device (resolves a lot of issues)
  • Try another browser (they’re always tweaking things)
  • Try another device
  • Make sure your internet connection is working well
  • Clear the old Crimson Circle password from any apps that handle saved passwords

Most login problems come from one simple thing: the device keeps using a password you no longer use. Once you remove the old saved password and type the correct one manually, you should get back into your account.

And if you still can’t log in, contact us at customerservice@crimsoncircle.com. Be sure to tell us what device and browser you’re using, and whether you already tried typing the password by hand. That helps us guide you faster.

And always remember, you’ve got this!
