Becoming Merlin

For many years now, our annual Merlin event has been one of the great gathering points for Shaumbra around the world. It comes at an interesting time of year, shortly after the Crimson Circle anniversary on August 21 and just before the beginning of a new Shoud series. In many ways, it has become our annual threshold, a time when we pause and gather, look at where we have been and, more importantly, sense where we are going.

Adamus and the other presenters have often used this gathering to open perspectives on what lies ahead. Sometimes the changes are subtle, while other times they represent significant shifts in consciousness and in our relationship with energy. Looking back over the years, many things that were discussed during the Merlin gatherings later became central themes in the work of Crimson Circle and in the lives of Shaumbra. To note a few, Beloved St. Germain announced the coming of Heaven’s Cross during Dream of the Merlin, Jami shared his remarkable version of the future in Metaphysics of the Merlin, and the Isle of New Sentience was introduced during last year’s See Change.

This year feels different. Not because we need another dramatic prediction about the future, and certainly not because the world needs another prophecy about what is going to happen next. It feels different because the role of Merlin itself is changing.

Perhaps it is time for Merlin to come out of the legends and stories. 

Perhaps it is time for Merlin to become you.

For most people, Merlin belongs to mythology. He is the mysterious wizard associated with King Arthur, Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. He appears in countless books, movies, and legends, usually as an old man with a long beard, flowing robes and unusual magical abilities. He sees things others cannot see, knows things he seemingly should not know, and has a rather unconventional relationship with time. Occasionally, he disappears into realms inaccessible to ordinary humans.

It makes for a good story, but according to Adamus Saint-Germain there is considerably more behind the legend. Adamus has said that there was not simply one historical Merlin. Merlin was a title. Over the ages, there were many who carried the Merlin energy and responsibility, and Adamus says that he himself was among them.

The Merlins generally did not announce themselves. They didn’t put up a sign saying Merlin and start accepting appointments for magical consultations. Rather, they appeared at particular moments in the evolution of human consciousness, when something fundamental was changing and new potentials were beginning to emerge.

A Merlin could perceive beyond the established reality of the time and sense potentials that others could not yet recognize. They could move beyond conventional structures of belief, perception and even time, sensing the new before it had taken form. In that sense, Merlin wasn’t simply a magician. Merlin was a consciousness pioneer.

Now something remarkable is happening. We are moving from the age ofMerlin into the time of the Merlins.

Human history has generally been organized around a relatively small number of individuals who moved consciousness forward. There were prophets, mystics, philosophers, inventors, teachers, masters and visionaries. Their names became part of history because they saw something before everyone else did. This model made sense, and perhaps it was even necessary, but it also reinforced an old pattern in which a few ventured ahead while everyone else followed.

A few would see and know, and a few would lead. Then everyone else might spend the next few hundred or even thousand years arguing about what those few actually saw, knew or said. We humans have become very good at that.

We’re entering a different era now. During The Merlin Fields, Adamus Saint-Germain will invite Shaumbra into an entirely new relationship with the Merlin archetype. There doesn’t need to be one Merlin anymore. There can be hundreds or thousands, not as followers of Merlin but as Merlins themselves.

This doesn’t mean adopting another spiritual identity. There will be no need for business cards proclaiming Certified Merlin, Third Degree, and hopefully nobody starts selling Merlin robes online. There is no hierarchy, organization, or initiation ceremony. Becoming Merlin is an acknowledgement within oneself that you are ready to perceive reality differently, to live beyond some of the old limitations of linear consciousness, and to sense the fields that have always been present but largely invisible to ordinary human perception.

Perhaps most importantly, it means being ready to stop waiting for someone else to show you the future.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Merlin legends is his unusual relationship with time. In some versions of the mythology, Merlin actually experiences time differently from other humans. He appears to know the future because, in a sense, he has already been there. And he is often referred to as one who walks backward through time. Whether taken literally or metaphorically, it is an intriguing description of multidimensional consciousness.

Human life has been dominated by linear time. We think in terms of past, present, and future, with one moment following another as we move relentlessly along the timeline. Yet consciousness itself is not confined to that structure. The past is not simply something locked away behind us, nor is the future an empty space waiting somewhere ahead.

There are fields of potentials, experience, consciousness, and energy that exist outside our normal perception of linear reality. The Merlin can move among them, not to control the future or manipulate events, and certainly not to become a fortune teller, but to perceive potentials that cannot be seen from within the limitations of the mind.

That is why one of the featured presentations at this year’s gathering is Merlin of Ambrosius – The Field of Time. It seems particularly appropriate right now because the future is changing very quickly. Artificial intelligence is transforming society, old institutions are under tremendous pressure, and our concepts of identity are changing. Humanity is reconsidering intelligence, consciousness, biology, energy, and even what it means to be human.

Trying to predict all of this using only the past becomes increasingly futile. The Merlin does something different: The Merlin goes beyond the timeline.

The theme of this year’s gathering is The Merlin Fields, and fields have become increasingly important in our recent work with Adamus. A field is not simply an invisible container surrounding something. It can be understood as an underlying organization of relationship, potentials, consciousness, and energy.

We live within fields, create fields, and interact through fields, yet the human mind has generally perceived only a tiny portion of what is occurring within them. This is why the statement on this year’s Merlin Fields poster says:

The fields have always been here. Perhaps… now you’re ready to perceive them.

That may be one of the most important aspects of becoming Merlin. The magic isn’t suddenly arriving, the multidimensional realms aren’t being created for us, and the potentials weren’t recently installed somewhere in the universe. They’ve always been here. What is changing is our ability to perceive them, and when perception changes, our experience of reality begins to change as well.

The Merlin Fields will be held online September 12–13, 2026, bringing Shaumbra together from around the world for two days of exploration, experience and discovery. The presentations themselves reveal the scope of what we are exploring, beginning with Adamus Saint-Germain and The Curious Nature of Fields, an exploration of the nature of fields themselves and what happens as we begin consciously perceiving them.

Merlin of Ambrosius will take us into The Field of Time, perhaps the most mysterious field of all, and our changing relationship with past, present and future. Kuthumi lal Singh explores The Fields of Identity, including the question of who we are when identity is no longer confined to a single human story.

The Yeshua Collective enters The Fields of Love. Love has changed dramatically since the time of Yeshua, and this presentation explores it not merely as a human emotion or relationship but as a living field. In The Fields of Intelligence, Intelligere takes intelligence beyond intellect and mental processing and into something inherent within creation itself.

Then, in Synthetic Intelligence in the Living Fields, Sarah explores something that would have been almost unimaginable at our earlier Merlin gatherings: the arrival of synthetic intelligence into the human experience, and what happens as AI enters into relationship with living fields and conscious humans.

Finally, The Beloved Saint-Germain brings us into The Fields of Richness, taking abundance beyond accumulation and into the natural richness of embodied life. Geoffrey Hoppe and Linda Benyo will also host the Sunday morning Crimson Circle Update and presentation of the Inspire Consciousness Award.

At first glance, these may appear to be separate subjects: time, identity, love, intelligence, synthetic intelligence and richness. But they are different facets of a much larger change in human perception. Together, they begin to describe what could be called the living fields of the Merlin.

There is an important distinction to make when talking about Merlin and magic. For centuries, magic has implied the ability to manipulate reality: Say the right words, perform the right ritual, learn the secret technique, focus hard enough, and perhaps you can force energy to give you what you want.

That’s old magic.

The new Merlin doesn’t need to manipulate energy because the new Merlin understands something far more elegant: Energy serves consciousness. Magic becomes a natural experience of allowing rather than controlling. Synchronicities increase, potentials appear that the mind could never have engineered, and solutions can arrive from unexpected directions. Reality becomes more fluid because the Merlin is no longer confined to the narrow corridors of mental expectation.

From the conventional human perspective, this can look magical. But perhaps magic was simply our old word for multidimensional living, something that humans once sensed but didn’t have the consciousness or language to understand. Perhaps that is also why the Merlin archetype is becoming relevant again now.

We are living during an extraordinary change in human history, and it would be easy to become overwhelmed by the speed of it. It would also be understandable to look for someone who knows what is going to happen next, whether that person is a leader, prophet, teacher, Master or Merlin. Humans have been doing that for a very long time.

But what if this particular change in consciousness is too large to be carried by one Merlin? What if the very nature of what is happening requires something entirely different — not one Merlin standing before thousands of followers, but thousands of Merlins standing in their own consciousness?

These are humans who can perceive beyond the obvious and who have become comfortable with paradox and uncertainty. They can sense potentials without needing to control them and understand that the future is not a predetermined destination but a field of potentials. They can live fully within physical reality while simultaneously being aware that reality is much greater than what the senses and mind have been trained to perceive.

Perhaps that is what this life has been preparing us for. It isn’t another spiritual title, identity, or hierarchy. It is a new maturity of consciousness, and with that maturity comes the ability to walk into the unknown without needing someone else to go first.

There have been Merlins before. They appeared when consciousness was ready to change direction, venturing beyond the accepted boundaries of their time and perceiving what others could not yet perceive. In doing so, they helped open pathways into new possibilities.

This time, however, there is an important difference. We are not waiting for Merlin to arrive, nor are we searching the horizon for the wise old magician who will tell us what happens next. We’re standing at the threshold ourselves, with the fields, potentials, and magic already here. Perhaps the ability to move beyond time, identity, and linear reality was never reserved for a select few in the first place; perhaps humanity simply needed time to become ready for it.

And perhaps Shaumbra needed a long journey of our own before we could hear this invitation without turning it into another spiritual identity or another search for power. After all these years of releasing, allowing, going beyond and learning a very different relationship with energy, perhaps we’re finally ready to understand Merlin in an entirely different way.

The invitation is actually very simple: Perceive what has always been here, and then allow yourself to live within it.

The Merlin Fields is not simply about discovering what comes next. It is about realizing who comes next. And this time the answer isn’t Adamus, Saint-Germain or the legendary wizard standing somewhere in the distant future.

It’s you.
